WGLS offers rental of specialist geotechnical field meters for project teams who need to carry out their own in-situ measurements on site. Three instruments are available for hire. The Thermal Resistivity Meter measures the heat dissipation properties of soil and is used by electrical engineers for cable burial and earthing system design. The Electrical Resistivity Meter measures soil resistance to electrical current for corrosion risk assessment and earthing design. The Shear Vane is used for rapid in-situ assessment of the undrained shear strength of soft cohesive soils in the field. All instruments are well-maintained and provided in good calibrated condition.
