Soil Strength Testing | UCS & Compressive Strength

Soil strength testing provides the mechanical performance data that engineers need to assess the suitability of stabilised subgrade and pavement materials, verify treatment effectiveness, and support pavement design. Western Geotechnical Laboratory Services (WGLS) provides accredited soil strength testing to Australian Standards and Main Roads WA specifications. Our current test suite includes Unconfined Compressive Strength (AS 5101.4 / WA 143.1), used to assess the strength of stabilised soils and subgrade materials after curing, and Maximum Dry Compressive Strength (WA 140.1), used to determine the optimum lime or cement content for soil stabilisation programs. These tests are routinely specified on road construction and pavement rehabilitation projects across Western Australia. Results are delivered with fast turnaround from our NATA-accredited laboratory in Welshpool, Perth.
