Working alongside Raubex, this multi-stage project delivers major transport upgrades across Perth’s southeast corridor. The works include a new 14km four-lane dual carriageway between Thomas Road and South Western Highway, along with a new grade-separated interchange to improve traffic flow on Tonkin Highway. The Thomas Road upgrade covers Kargotich Road through to Alexander Road, featuring new roundabouts, traffic signals, road alignments, and a realigned equine path. Scope of works includes construction materials testing from base laboratory, including field (NDM) testing and QA testing in the laboratory.
Western Geotechnical supported both stages of the project.
– Stage One (May 2022 – Nov 2023): over 1,500 samples tested.
– Stage Two (Jan 2023 – Nov 2024): over 2,600 samples tested.
Our testing ensured quality and compliance across pavements, bulk earthworks and road construction. The upgrades will reduce travel times, relieve pressure on surrounding roads and significantly improve connectivity for commuters.
