In partnership with Georgiou and in alliance with Main Roads, WGLS supported the delivery of the Leach Highway / Welshpool Road Interchange Upgrade. Beginning in May 2021 and completed in October 2023, the $93M project delivered a new grade-separated bridge taking Leach Highway over Welshpool Road, along with a new shared path from Sevenoaks Street to Orrong Road.
Throughout construction, WGLS performed extensive field and laboratory testing, with more than 12,000 samples completed to maintain strict quality and compliance standards. The project created over 600 local jobs and now provides safer travel, reduced congestion, and significantly shorter journey times for motorists across Welshpool and the surrounding commercial hubs.
